Radical feminists cannot argue

Last October I wrote a column for my college newspaper criticizing the extreme feminism that is aimed at devaluing the role of a father in the household and limiting the ‘choice’ aspect of the Pro-Choice movement strictly to what the woman wants, even if she has a loving partner.

Predictably, I received a lot of dumbass responses, none more stupid than this letter. Seriously, that is by far the most stunning example of strawman arguing I have ever seen. Read the original column and then her alleged rebuttal, and you’ll see what I mean.

Their responses differed in vocabulary while sharing a common theme: ‘OMG U R SEXIST!!!’

Instead of forming an argument, they resorted to ad hominem attacks. It is a tactic designed to smear the opposition as regressive beasts who seek to maintain a tilted, evil status quo against the heroes, which is exactly what these radical feminists see themselves as: heroes.

They see themselves as the valiant warriors fighting against a systematic patriarchy whose goals are aimed at keeping them low-class forever. And while sexism still exists, it would be foolish to suggest otherwise, it’s important to note that the battle they are fighting is no longer real.

The gains made by feminism’s early incarnations are no longer the gains that need to be made, but these people refuse to see that. When you come down to it, there are two types of feminists: the ones who don’t suck and the ones who suck.

The ones who don’t suck look at the history of feminism and ask themselves “How can I build on that?”

The ones who do suck ask themselves “Why not me too?”

They seek glory. Fame. Their selfish, power-hungry quest propagates bias against men, and they do so under the guise of equality, which allows them to conveniently label anyone who may argue against them. Society as a whole believes them, and this type of discrimination often goes unnoticed.

In the absence of actual intelligence, actual goals, they fight phantom enemies and a battle that was won long ago. Rather than seeking to improve upon past feminist accomplishments, they seek to recreate them and demand unconditional respect and accolades for their work.

Easily among the most irritating people you’ll ever encounter, their bias and glory-hungry agenda masking itself as equality wound all parties involved.

They are women, hear them roar, but all I hear is a grating cackle.

One that is nearly impossible to silence.
